Ryou Shiranui (不知火 亮 Shiranui Ryou) is an A-Ranked Assault student at Butei High. He stands out from his peers by always being a polite and elegant student. He is Kinji Tohyama’s and Gouki Mutou’s friend.
History []
There is a fair bit of mystery surrounding Shiranui's past prior to him enrolling in Butei High. However his peers believed that he had experience handling a gun before entering Butei High; the reason being because in the first term of his first year he teamed up with Kinji Tohyama under the supervision of a year student to stop a bank robbery. During the raid he entered the building calmly and efficiently took out the leader of the armed assailants by shooting him in both the legs without even breaking his signature smile.
This mission together would become to inciting incident that would lead to him and Kinji becoming friends.
Personality []
Shiranui always portrays himself as a kind and demure person; preferring to remain out of the spotlight if he can help it. All his peers and teachers see him to be pleasant and reliable. However he seems to have an aversion to talking about himself; often times leading to him skillfully dodging the question. Nonetheless, he still cares greatly for his friends and is willing to go out of the way to help them.
That being said he also has a mischievous side to him as he likes to tease Kinji about his relationship with girls; like the time he and Mutou teamed up to send an embarrassing text message to Aria H. Kanzaki through Kinji's cellphone.

- Even though he is very popular with girls, he never had a girlfriend before.
- During the events of Volume 5, it was revealed that Shiranui seems to have experience in playing soccer. He ended being the mid-fielder for the Butei High team because of this.
- He received the nickname "Old Hand" because of his proficiency with using a gun.
